Although Freddy Adu has not been receiving sufficient playing time at AS Monaco, Coach Ricardo Gomes inserted Freddy in the starting eleven paired with strike partner Serge Gapke for the friendly against Juventus. Although Juventus controlled and maintained the majority of the possession in the first half, Freddy Adu was fouled by Legrottaglie in the 35th minute which led to the penalty kick score by midfielder Jerko Leko. Juventus tied the game in the last minutes of regulation, but AS Monaco won in penalties 5-4.

Adu definitely needs playing time, and now with the announcement that Adu will be staying for the remainder of the season will Adu see more playing time in 2009?
