In the latest soccer news: Brazil defeated Italy 2-0 in a match that started as a disaster for Italy but regained their composure in the second half. If you missed the game, don't worry. Fox Soccer Channel will be broadcasting the game throughout the week, and if you don't have FSC, you have Soccer Addict News to bring you the latest soccer news and videos.

These soccer videos feature the Brazil vs Italy friendly. This video is the longer version.

This soccer video features the two Brazilian goals.

The game started in a peculiar way as Italy looked extremely uncomfortable, and the Brazilians displayed their technicality and freedom to express themselves as they dominated the first half. The Brazilians applied high pressure on the Italians causing several important turnovers. The Brazilian combination play was excellent as Elano scored on an excellent give-and-go which had the normal stingy Italian defense hypnotized by the play. Robinho created the second goal by stealing the ball from Pirlo close to the Italian penalty area and toyed with three Italian defenders providing a dribbling showcase that would make And1 jealous. After juking out the three defenders, Robinho sent the ball far right post slightly pinging off the post for the goal.

After the second goal, it appeared that Brazil had taken the foot off the pedal as they were coasting to the victory and didn't want to show up some of their club teammates. Brazil demonstrated why they are still a team to be feared as they dismantled the Italian defense and silenced the Italian attack. Although Brazil has not played well in Conmebol qualifiers, Brazil seems to require inspiration through difficult competition. If you like tricks, astute passing, and mesmerizing dribbling, this game would not have disappointed. You definitely have to check out Ronaldino's stutter pass, Robinho's dribbling for the second goal, and Robinho's wrap around pass to himself in the second half. Brazil entertained most of the night and showed why they should not be taken lightly being blessed with a wealth of talent that could be the deepest international pool.

Although the Italians did not play their best game, some positives did emerge in the game in the form of the Italian wing backs, Amauri has yet to be capped, and Giuseppe Rossi is the real deal. Zambrotta and Grosso had great games and were the most solid players in the first half. Luckily for Italy they still have a chance at Amauri as Juventus denied access to his services due to a late request to play in the friendly. If Amauri plays for Brazil, would he be able to start or earn playing time? Would it be a good idea to cap-tie himself to Brazil?  I actually think that it might be to his advantage to play for Italy considering that most of their good forwards are over 30 years of age. It will be interesting to see what transpires before the next international FIFA date.

Giuseppe Rossi  and Luca Toni entered the game in the start of the second half and complimented each other well. It was good to see Rossi play against a high level team such as Brazil and perform well. Although I have seen Rossi play at Villareal and the U-21 side several times, I was interested to see how he would have performed against top level talent. Rossi demonstrated that he has pace, ability to dribble penetrate, pass well, and strike quickly and accurately. Rossi possesses speed, quickness, tenacity, and defensive coverage which would even make Coach Bradley proud. Chris Sullivan stated that Rossi was the best Italian player of the match, and I tend to agree. It is very impressive that an Italian National team composed of mostly late 2o's to mid 30's players calls-up a young forward who just turned 22 years old ten days ago.

Although this is difficult to hear for most US fans that think that he should have played for the USA, I am happy that he is doing well and wish the best for him. I began to imagine how strong the USA would be with Rossi and Altidore up top, and how that would have forced Bradley to change his strategy and formations. The team would definitely have some firepower and a much deeper bench. I guess that I need to create formations and lineups to gain closure after Rossi departed ways. LOL!!!!

This lineup would have been a potential formation for the USA if Rossi was added. Wow, what could have been.

Beasley-Bocanegra-Oneyewu-Cherundolo

The USA would definitely be a more feared national team if Rossi would have played for the red, white and blue.
