Soccer goals: After falling out of favor with poor performances in the Costa Rican qualifier and Confederations Cup, Rangers' winger DaMarcus Beasley  earns for a strong return to the USMNT. Feeling disappointed about his recent woes, Beasley spoke of his discontent to the Associated press stating "itt was very disappointing. One mistake and I'm out."

He also added that "it just shows that no player is guaranteed a spot. It's the first time ever in my career that it's happened to me in the national team. It was difficult to swallow. "I wanted to help my team win, be part of it, because I didn't feel a part of it."

With several sustained injuries and lack of playing time, the speedy winger has struggled with his first touch and hope to rekindle his 2002-05 form that propelled him as one of the top US players. With the emergence of Stuart Holden, Benny Feilhaber, and Charlie Davies, DaMarcus Beasley could be in jeopardy of losing his roster spot to the upcoming youngsters.

He believes that remaining injury free and at top form will keep him in the USMNT fold stating "if I can get a good run of games and be fit and be back to the way I used to play, then I think (Bradley) will be happy with that."

Benny Feilhaber's improved play has been featured in this soccer video.

  1. steve Said,

Beasley believes that it was only one mistake that demoted him?? Shows you how out of touch he is…
He really should not see the field unless we have secured a birth into the finals…
